Heartbroken - tear drop sculpture
Heartbroken - tear drop sculpture -
A sculpture concept developed from a period of personal heartache in 2004.  As part of my art studies I made a series of drawings of a broken heart within each tear drop.  I had the hope that one day this idea would become 3 dimensional.
In 2010 it was time, the project took more than 85 hours over several months to create, beginning with carving the form ready to mosaic. Using mirror on the tear-drop form helps create a water-like affect, then each piece of mirror is individually cut to represent each individual person, from any and every way of life, who has experienced the heart-rending tears through a time of heart-break.
